MAGNESIOHORNBLENDE    Pike Industries Quarry, Beech Hill, Carroll, NH.
1.0 mm field of view
Species:           MAGNESIOHORNBLENDE
Locality:          Pike Industries Quarry, Beech Hill, Carroll, NH.
Specimen Size: 1.0 mm field of view
Field Collected: Woody Thompson
Catalog No.: u2365
Notes: Splintery crystals appear to be zoned Fe (green) to Mg (clear).
My original visual ID for these was actinolite, but EDS analysis indicated moderate aluminum. Moderate aluminum is allowed for actinolite. This analysis showed 0.45 APFU of Al. [tm] I am reconsidering an actinolite identification for this u2365 specimen.
